Learn uniliteral hieroglyphs

To begin in your discovery, you must learn the uniliteral hieroglyphs. Indeed, the hieroglyphs are composed of three groups as follows:

  • uniliterals (one syllable – consonant or vowel)
  • biliterals (two syllables – consonants or vowels)
  • triliterals (three syllables – consonants or vowels)

Here is a bread, which symbolically represents something feminine – and the feminine nourishes, doesn’t it?

How to remember it?
When you see bread, you can say to yourself “Are you hungry?” So we’re thinking about the T again. Do it yourself, I haven’t found a better one yet… or share your technical memo in the comments.

You can see small waves so it’s the concept of water

How it is pronounced ?
n probably pronounced “ni” because “ni” means Water in many African languages (Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Cameroon)

How to remember?
Easy to remember: these are small waves representing the Nile, which begins with N!

A flowering reed that is an aquatic plant with a straight, smooth stem.

What’s that?
A little spiral

How it is pronounced ?

How to remember?
Wow, it’s spinning! It reminds me of a whirlpool called Whirlpool in English (hence the brand of washing machine…)

An arm. We can therefore deduce that it is a question here of force.

How it is pronounced ?

A braided lamp wick.

A wick that ignites is “hot” hence the H and the dot makes me think of the spark of fire with which it is lit!

What’s that?
A halter is a piece of harness for pets. It is placed on the animal’s head and then allows you to have a grip to hold the animal, and thus lead it or even tie it.
Personally, I don’t think it looks like a halter, but hey…

If the animal is pulled with difficulty, I see the underlined T as an emphasis on the word Pull…
